Exact casting process produce a drum with equal wall thickness giving even brake stress distribution and providing uniform thermal expansion to minimise brake judder and vibration.
HVPL brake drums are produced to exacting standards of both dimensional integrity and material specification.
Some references are machined both internally and externally to achieve an exact balance without the need for cut-outs, reducing drum wall temperature fluctuation to alleviate cracking.

HVPL Manufacturing process like Heat Treating, Seam Welding, Powder Coating in the manufacture of their premium brake shoes. Their practices provide more durable hardened steel shoes, welding along the entire brake shoe, and electro-magnetic bonding of paint to the shoe to stop rust before it starts. HVPL’s Critical Dimension Controls used in the manufacture of new shoes and shoe kits provide controlled accurate shoe radius, uniformed and balanced braking performance, and prevents hot-spots and brake vibrations.
HVPL Brake Pad and Brake shoes undergo following inspections:
- Friction testing as per SAE J661 Standard
- Bonding strength testing between lining and back plate
- Hardness Testing
- Welding strength testing between rim and web plate of Brake Shoes
We can categorize Brake Shoes as per vehicle requirements depending upon their Friction Material properties Brake Shoes are Organic, Metallic or Ceramic type & Depending upon their Shoes they can be classified as Aluminium casting & fabricated shoe.
